The Australian Government introduced new laws and requirements to minimise the inappropriate use of restraints in residential aged care facilities, Titled the ‘Restraint Principles’. The Restraint Principles are contained in Part 4A of the Quality of Care Principles 2014. These were updated in 2019 and 2021.
