I believe the nurse should have used the MORAL model for patient advocacy because they would clearly state the dilemma to the doctor, they would decide if it was appropriate for the patient to return home or stay the night at the hospital, the dilemma would have be resolved because staff would have chosen that she would stay for observation instead of going home, possibly alone, after getting all the meds, and looking back, they may have saved her life by having her admitted for the night, avoiding a lawsuit and a having the patient alive.
