Assignment: EBP Project (Part One) INSTRUCTIONS The purpose of this EBP Project is to further develop critical thinking skills in appraising individual evidence from a partial review of the literature through summarization and evaluation processes. The EBP Project requires you to place the evidence from your five articles in an Evaluation and Summary Table. Students will utilize a JHNEBP Appraisal Tool to determine the level of evidence and quality of evidence for their five individual studies. Students will then make a recommendation for next steps in conducting future research studies (given that a recommendation for practice cannot be made since a synthesis of all evidence has not been conducted). Students are required to Listen to the PPT: EBP Project Background and Guidelines, narrated by Dr. JMS, to fully understand the project’s purpose and instructions. Click on the lower right arrow on each slide for the narration. Students are then required to utilize Appendix E (JHNEBP) to appraise the Level and Quality of each article’s study and complete the Summary Table. Utilize the appropriate pages and questions for a QuaN, QuaL, or mixed methods study. Respond to the appraisal questions in the Appendix to determine the Level and Quality for each of the five studies. Identify the Type of Evidence (from the article’s abstract) and its corresponding Level of Evidence (I, II, or III).
